Eye Q Vision Care

Dwight D. Boyd, O.D.

Dr. Dwight D. Boyd has been serving patients in the North Metro Atlanta area since early 1991. His commitment to offer the finest eyecare experience possible began in 1994 when founding North Point Eyecare in Alpharetta, Georgia. Dr. Boyd was well prepared for this endeavor by completing his training in multiple clinical settings including a referral-based eye surgical center working with secondary and tertiary ophthalmologists.

He has been certified by the National Board of Optometry for the treatment and management of ocular disease, including additional certification in ocular disease and glaucoma in the states of Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi. Dr. Boyd is also certified by The Drug Enforcement Agency for controlled substances. His special interests include treating and managing glaucoma patients and fitting keratoconus and multifocal specialty contact lenses.

He has established himself as a referral-based consulting optometrist providing primary eyecare services treating ocular disease in multiple Georgia Correctional Institutions while contracting with Medical College of Georgia/GCHC. Sharing his practice knowledge with his peers, Dr. Boyd has lectured to the professional staff concerning eye care management, and has been called on by the Georgia Secretary of State's office to help develop new standards for the Optometric Board examination.

Dr. Boyd is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Georgia Optometric Association, Emory Vision Correction Center, The Laser Center, and affiliate member of Omni Eye Services, and Woolfson Eye Institute.

Personally, he has been married to the former Miss Diane Cutshall of Iuka, Mississippi since 1979. They regularly attend Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Gainesville, Georgia where he teaches Adult Sunday School. He actively serves on the Board of Helping Hands Foreign Missions providing free medical care to those less privileged around the world. He has spent several years volunteering in various civic groups, and now commits his time to serving in a weekly children's Bible study program. Besides volunteering, his hobbies include traveling to remote areas of the world, and in his spare time sailing on Lake Sidney Lanier.
